To determine why your stop and signal lights do not work we have a process that can give some direction. First, we have to determine if the issue lies in your truck or your trailer.
To test the truck, use a circuit tester such as Performance Tools # PTW2993, and test the pin in question. I have attached a short video showing the testing process. If you find the pin without voltage when the corresponding function is activated, there lies your issue.
If all of the pins check out with voltage on your truck side, you know the issue lies in the trailer. Check the pins inside the trailer connector for either dirt and/or corrosion. Both dirt and corrosion can hinder the flow of current causing your functions to malfunction. If after those are cleaned thoroughly, and you still are without a solution, check the grounding connection for that function. Again, check the connection for the ground making sure it is clean. If you are still without power, try attaching the ground to a different location. If the ground mounts through the mounting hardware, make sure that this is also a clean metal surface.
The solution to your issue is within this process.
I have also attached our troubleshooting wiring installation cause/effect article that can give you some reference.
