How To Install Tekonsha Trailer Brake Controller On 2013 Ford Explorer
Question:
I have a 2013 Ford Explorer with a 7 way pin installed tow package. I want to install my old bought in 2003 Voyager Brake Controller for my trailer. I have looked at your other videos and I think that this will be a simple install. https://www.etrailer.com/multi-product.aspx?pc1=39523andpc2=3035-PandVehicleID=201333347andHHYear=2013andHHMake=FordandHHModel=Explorer Are these instructions appropriate to follow? In other words, it looks like the female receptor is already in place so i will need to simply peel back the panel under the steering wheel. Thanks

In order to install a Tekonsha trailer brake controller on a 2013 Ford Explorer with factory 7-way you'll simply need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3035-P. The factory plug is located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. If you want to make things easier you can remove a panel to give you more room which is covered in the video attached.
