Where Does White Wire On Curt 2 Wire to 3 Wire Converter C56196 Get Connected?

Question:

From the Khromewerks isolator module on my 2021 Harley TriGlide to the input side of the Curt 56196 converter box, I understand that the running light wire bypasses the converter box. But what about the white ground wire? Does it get cut and connected to the white input wire of the converter box only? Isnt a separate ground wire required anymore at the trailer taillights? Should I bypass the converter box with the white ground wire and simply tap into it with the converter box white input wire? I was intending on using 5-flat terminals so I would have room for the ground wire. If I dont need the ground wire, then I could use my existing 4-flat terminals. Im concerned that the running lights wont have a ground to function. This will connect to a Bushtec trailer with separate tail and turn signals.

The white ground wire on the Curt 2 to 3 Wire Converter # C56196 does not need to be connected to the white wire on your 5-way connector, it can get the ground from the frame of your trailer.

Not all lights have an actual ground wire as some get the ground through the mounting hardware, it will depend on which style your lights are and what material the frame of your trailer is made of.

If your trailer is steel then grounding each light to the trailer frame is fine, but if the trailer is aluminum or has a tilt bed then you will want to run a jumper wire from each light on the trailer to the main ground on the tongue of your trailer.

I included a video of the # C56196 for you to take a look at.
