What Voltage Specification is the Optional LED on the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger?
Question:
I want to install the optional LED. But the manual does not specify what voltage its providing to the LED. I dont have the Redarc unit hooked up yet to specifically measure it. Do you know if its a 12V or 5V LED? I would think 12V but dont want to assume.

Expert Reply:
I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Redarc, and he confirmed that the LED voltage is 3 volts. It is important that the 3-volt LED does not have an integrated resistor. I went ahead and attached a wiring setup photo and highlighted where you add an that LED.
