Which Wind Fairing Is Best For 2011 Subaru Outback With Factory OEM Roof Rack?
Question:
Hello, I purchased online a 32inch Airscreen from Thule based on the spec to fit the 2011 Subaru Outback factory roof rack bars. However, the adapters are to wide and appears that are specifically made for Thule aero bars. What kind of adapter I need to use to make this Airscreen work on my Outback. And if you have them for sale, please let me know which ones are those. Thanks for your help.

The crossbars on your vehicle may be a slightly different size or thickness compared to the Thule crossbars that AirScreen XT for Thule Crossbars - 38" # TH72WV is specifically designed for, so it may not fit as tight as you would like. You can try using the square bar adapter that comes with the fairing to see if that aids in tightening the fairing to your crossbars, and also make sure you are ratcheting the straps all the way tight to secure the fairing.
There is not an adapter that you can buy to allow better fitment to your OEM Subaru crossbars, so your other option is to go with a more universal design such as the Inno Fairing for Roof Racks - 40" # INA261. This fits crossbars up to 1" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/8" diameter, or for taller crossbars you can add Large Crossbar Adapter Bolts for Inno Fairings - Qty 6 # INISF717. This fairing uses a basic clamp-down method which works with basically any crossbar design, such as your Subaru roof rack. I attached a demonstration video for you.
