Recommended Surge Brake Actuator W/ Drop To Replace 3 Bolt Actuator On Shorland'r Boat Trailer

Question:

I have an older 2007-2009 Shorlandr boat roller trailer with disc brakes, and I need to replace the actuator. The actuator on the trailer now is a three bolt where DM8164311 has 5. Any suggestions on how to bolt the new actuator on to the trailer?

Thanks for the picture!

I do have an option for you, but we do not have a surge brake actuator for disc brakes that uses 3 holes in the bottom flange like yours.

Before replacing it with the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8164311 you were looking at, you will need to verify the weight of your loaded boat trailer. This actuator is rated for 16000lbs so you will want to make sure that is close to your loaded weight as having a coupler too overrated can cause decreased braking performance and ride quality.

To get this actuator installed you will need to drill new holes to match the new bolt pattern. You will just need to make sure that you do not drill into any existing holes causing an issue.

I included a video of the # DM8164311 for you to take a look at.
