Bike Carrier Recommendations for a 2011 Mini Cooper Roadster Convertible

Question:

I am looking for a bike rack to fit on to my 2011 convertible mini cooper. I would like a rack for 2 bikes. Also my trunk door opens at the top and lays down if that helps, also I do not have any special port or hitch to attach a bike rack I would have to use a frame mount unless the racks that you have will somehow attach to my trunk door. If you could send me a link to an example of a rack that will fit my car I would really appreciate it. Thanks

There are no trunk-mount bike carriers for your Mini convertible (this is due to the unique design of your vehicle). My contacts at three bike rack manufacturers (Hollywood Racks, Thule and Yakima) all confirmed that there is no trunk-mount bike carrier suitable for your 2011 Mini Cooper convertible.

Also, since your vehicle has a dual exhaust centered at the back bumper, there is also no hitch receiver that can be fitted to it. This prevents use of a hitch-mount bike carrier.

And since you have a convertible, the roof-mount carrier option is also unsuitable, so regrettably we have no bike rack option to offer you for this particular vehicle.
