Recommendation for Upgrading Brakes on Tow Dolly

Question:

It has 1997 stamped on the ball hitch assembly. This unit has hydraulic drum brakes. It is a bolt on hub with no spindle. I want to put hydraulic disc brakes on it but I will need to have a spindle to mount them on. The bolt pattern is roughly 3 1/8 across and 2 1/2 up and down. Can you help me find which spindle will work?

I do not have enough information to know what you have and if that old most likely will be challenging to locate replacement parts. My suggestion is to remove and replace the entire axel assembly. I suggest trying to first identify the current axel weight rating and manufacturer by looking for markings on the axel itself.

We can help with hydraulic drum brakes such as the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Left/Right Hand, 3,500 lbs., # AKFBBRK-35 and complete axle kits with electric brakes, Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - 89" - 5,200 lbs., # 8327820-EB. But we do not have kits for hydraulic disk brakes.
