Advent Air ACDOM150 Only Having Two Speeds When Controlled By Original Dometic Thermostat

Question:

I just installed the Advent 15000 to replace my Dometic 13500. My problem now is that the Advent 15000 is a three speed fan while my Dometic was a two speed. I think I need the Advent ACTH12 thermostat for the three speed blower in the Advent. Is that the answer and why don’t you sell them for upgrades if it is? I have a ducted system and staying with the Dometic plenum. As installed the ADVENT is I think only blowing on the medium and low blower speed and it will not defeat the hot outside temperature. The unit only ped the temp by 8 degrees beginning at 99F inside temp. It was blowing cool air but not the volume I expected from a 15000 btu unit. For initial cool down. HELP!!

Since your Dometic 13500 BTU air conditioner only had a two speed fan, but the Advent Air # ACDOM150 you just installed has a 3 speed fan you will need to replace your current thermostat and air distribution box.

I recommend the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACRG15 which includes everything you need, and it will all be an exact replacement for your current components. This will allow you to get the 3rd fan speed working and the air distribution you expected.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
