Replacement Knob And Bolt for SportRack SR2901B Bike Rack

Question:

I think I stripped the inside of the hook tensioner knob. When tightening the knob, it just started spinning, I removed the hook from the clamping block but cant get the knob to grip the bolts threads when I push it through I feel like Im not pushing hard enough on the clamping parts. Im happy to send you a photo of video if that helps. Do I need anything else other than a new knob Item # 050045 and bolt Item # 050046? Ive lost the knob. Not sure if I have the bolt facing the right direction. Please advise.

Helpful Expert Reply:

I would recommend getting both replacement parts. The Replacement Knob # 050045 and the bolt # 050046. As far as the placement of the bolt and knob, you just want the knob to be the most accessible. Facing it towards the outside where it's most accessible is the best.
