Will Any Wires Need to be Run When Installing a Tekonsha P3 on a 2008 Chevrolet 2500HD?
Question:
Some instructions indicate that you have to run a blue 12ga wire from the controller all the way back to the plug and the rear bumper. However, some articles/instructions say you only need to attached the break controller to the pigtail under the dash. Prodigy P3 break controller 90195

From what I could find, you should not need to run any wires on your 2008 Silverado 2500HD. Especially as your truck came with the factory tow package from Chevy. You will simply need to attach the pigtail that comes included with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 to the bundle of wires under the dash.
I included an install we did of the P3 # 90195 on an 08 Silverado for you to check out as well.
