Can an A-Frame Tool Box be Used as a Propane Tank Cover?

Question:

I am looking for a tongue trailer box, aluminum black diamond plate, that can be modified to mount and hold the 2 20-pound propane tanks and regulator used for my trailer appliances. I can do all the necessary mounting/mods. Looking for at least a 34inch length across the back, 19inch inside height, 16inch front to rear. Thank you for your time

Though the UWS A-Frame Trailer Toolbox - 6.3 cu ft - Gloss Black # UWS01065 will measure 49 inches at the back, 24 inches at the front, 18 inches deep, and 21 inches tall, I cannot suggest using it as a propane tank case. This is due to propane tanks having a vent that will release pressure if the pressure in the tank gets too high. Tool boxes like the # UWS01065 will seal when locked and could cause something catastrophic to occur.

What may be a better option, though not quite to your specifications, will be the Camco RV Polyethylene Propane Tank Cover for (2) 20-lb or 30-lb Steel Tanks - Colonial White # CAM40532. This has an open bottom for venting, if needed, and a top flap for easy access to the tanks.
