Hopkins or Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring For 2004 Jeep TJ
Question:
Which wiring harness do you feel is the better option, the Hopkins HM56202 or the Roadmaster RM-154 for my 2004 Jeep TJ and what are the benefits of the one over the other?

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2004 Jeep TJ, between the Roadmaster # RM-154 and the Hopkins # HM56202, the better tow bar wiring option is absolutely the Hopkins kit:
- Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56202
What makes the Hopkins kit the better option between the two is the installation. While the Roadmaster will have you splicing into your Jeep's wiring, the Hopkins kit allows you to simply plug the connectors into your tail lights. The Hopkins is also a diode kit like the Roadmaster so it will protect your Jeep's electrical systems from any feedback.
So going with the Hopkins gives you the benefits of an easier install and not having to cut into your Jeep's wiring without sacrificing anything in terms of quality or function. I have added a link below to a video install on an '04 Jeep for you to check out as well of the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56202.
