Which Thule Motion XT Roof Box for Lexus RX350 to Carry 166cm Snowboard

Hi, Im having a hard time deciding which size Motion XT to get for my Lexus RX 350. The Large or XL. The dealership will be installing OEM cross bars soon and then I want to buy the cargo box. I want to make sure i can open the real hatch of the SUV while also not having the front of the box hang over the front too much it at all. Its important for me to carry my snowboard in the box 166 cm with board case. Thanks for your help!

In order to determine which box will fit the best, you'll need to know the distance from the center of the front crossbar to the spot where the roof meets the rear hatch; the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Glossy # TH629706 requires at least 47-1/2 from the front crossbar to the rear hatch line. The good news is that the Motion XT-Large # TH629706 is 175cm inside, so it will fit your 166cm snowboard.

There is also the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Glossy # TH629806, which can carry snowboards or skis up to 200cm long and requires 51-1/4" from the center of the front crossbar to the rear hatch line.

If you've got less than 47-1/2" then let me know and I can see if there's a different box we can make fit that will also carry your boards.
