Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit On 2018 Prime Time Fury Toy Hauler Not Powering Back Up Camera

Question:

I removed the center marker light and installed a back up camera but its not working. Its a 2018 Prime Time Fury toy hauler. When I test with a volt meter it registers in milli volts and Is all over the place. When I wire the light back up it works fine but when I put the light directly to a battery it does not work and when I put the camera to the battery its fine. Is it possible my LED lights are not 12 volt or do I maybe have a bad ground? When I reverse the probes I get OL on my meter for over limit, Im guessing.

It sounds like you have a bad ground, as OL on a multimeter means Open Loop which is no continuity. I would move the ground wire to a different location that is corrosion and paint free metal. I would highly doubt that the center market light on your 2018 Prime Time Fury Toy Hauler is not 12v, as I am unaware of any trailer manufacturers using 6 volt lights anymore.

Once you relocate the ground to a better surface, let me know if the camera starts working.
