Is White Wire Required On Tekonsha Harness For 2018 Lexus GX 460

Question:

Is this adapter #3040-P a straight plug and play between a 2018 Lexus GX with Towing Pkg white connecter beside emergency brake and a Tekonsha Prodigy P3, or does the white wire with eyelet also need to be secured to a ground? If not, can it simply be taped up to keep it out of the way?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 is a confirmed fit for a 2018 Lexus GX 460 when used with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3040-P. The harness is plug-in-play for the exception of the white wire which will need to be grounded to the body with a self-taping screw or you can try to find an existing ground nearby.
