3500 lbs Axle Frame Clearance

Top of axle tube to frame for clearance on 3500 axles?

If your axle is mounted on top of the leaf spring, like the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles item # e54SR you were looking at, you will want between 2 and 2-1/2 inches between the top of the axle and the trailer frame. You will also want 3 inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the fender. I have attached a diagram that shows different size springs and clearances between the top of the axles and the frame with the middle of the axles.
