I believe you are talking about the support brace, labeled part 5 in the instructions I have linked for you. If you are looking at the drivers side of the vehicle, the longer leg of the front support strap bolts to the forward hole on the tall bracket labeled 3 in the instructions. The short leg of the support brace points towards the rear of the vehicle and will bolt to the body of the vehicle (back of the rocker panel) up underneath where you cannot see unless you are under the vehicle looking out.
