4-Bolt 5th Wheel Installation Kit for a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with 8 Foot Bed

Question:

I purchased a 2008 Dodge 2500 with an 8foot bed it had a 5th wheel hitch in it at one time there are only 4 holes drilled thru the box is there a rail kit for my truck that only requires drilling 4 holes? I would like to use the existing holes if possible.

It sounds like either the previous owner used a 4-bolt universal above the bed kit or you have an underbed mounting system.

If the holes are small and the rails were above the bed when they were installed it may have been the discontinued universal 4-bolt kit like 30095.

If the holes are large and have pucks in them then it may be fitting with Elite Series mounting kit # RP30074 or a similar kit such as a Valley UBS system.

I have included links to the instructions for each kit so it should be easy to determine which kit is/was on it. If it requires the 4-bolt universal kit, the rails are compatible with Reese, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Curt, Valley, and Husky 5th wheel hitches that fit in above the bed rails.

If it is an underbed system then you have to use the correct compatible hitch that matches the installation kit manufacturer. So for an Elite Series kit you would use an M5 hitch like # RP30921.
