Extended Length Weight Distribution Shank For Fastway e2 System To Clear Jeep Gladiator
Question:
Is there a least expensive shank extension thats available? The set up is rated 8k pounds, but Ill definitely pack light coz my 2018 Sonoma is 5335 dry wt. and I can only tow 7650 max. Anyway, when I make a u-turn the trucks tail light hits the front facade of the trailer. It looks like an shank extension is a viable solution. I only need about 2 inches clearance to avoid the rubbing. If the extension is available, will it diminish my rowand tongue capacity? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17122 is 6" longer from your current shank. It is 14" from hitch center pin to the center of the vertical bolt holes versus the 8" length shank that comes with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA94-00-1061. The vertical holes will have the same 1-1/4" spread that your Fastway hitch uses.
This will not reduce your weight capacity that you are able to tow.
