How to Measure so an Axle can be Replaced on a Boat trailer
Question:
I have a 1999 dorsey boat trailer with a 6k grwr it has a square axle with leafsprings and on the back of one of the hubs it says 8-248 Mta16. There is no brakes on this axle only rear has brakes. Im looking to get a new axle because mine is bent but all the ways to measure it dont work bc i have no face to measure from

The axles on a tandem axle trailer should be the same size. Hubs that include drums will also measure the same as an idler hub from face to face on an axle. With that being said, I suggest measuring the undamaged axle. This should get you all the needed measurements to find the correct replacement.
