Can Reese Friction Sway Control be Used with 2-5/16 inch Hitch Ball

Question:

Hi folks. Im currently using a Equalizer WDH setup 600lb bars to pull an Airstream 19 behind my 2018 Q7. Several people have suggested that the Audi receiver factory is not rated to use the WDH, and I worry that the receiver will fail. I note that even without the optional air-suspension, the Audi exhibits little sag with a normal 9inch long receiver. If I swap to a simpler shank and ball, can/should I use a sway bar like the Reese 83360? I notice the sway ball mount from Reese 26003 is for a 2inch ball mine is 2-5/16inch ball on 1-1/4inch shank. Is there a suitable replacement? Also, Audi is pretty adamant about using a short receiver-to-ball length shank. Is there one? Any advice is very much appreciated!

The sway control bracket part # 26003 does require a 1 inch shank hitch ball which we have in this size for a 2-5/16 inch ball # C40007 that would work to allow you to use the Reese friction sway control part # 83360.

If Audi is adamant you can't use a WD system I would highly recommend not continuing to do so as well. This will cause damage most likely.
