Replacement Landing gear for 2009 Heartland Bighorn 3055RL

Question:

I own a 2009 Bighorn RV, 3055RL model and I have had problems with the landing gear 4 times since I bought it. I dont use it but 1-2 times per year because of problems with the jacks not extending or extracting. Do these jacks have limit switches to avoid breaking the gears or other jack components. Do these jacks require any modifications to install.

Based on some previous 2009 Heartland Bighorn 5th wheels we've seen, they've typically got 15-1/2" between the two inside weld stops on the landing gear-which is the best way to match up compatible landing gear without any modifications required. We've previously recommended the Reese # RP500708, which are a nice replacement landing gear and the dual motors really helps if you're not on precisely flat ground.

This landing gear set does not have a limiter on the switch, so you will need to take care when operating these so not to over-extend the jacks. I'm not aware of a landing gear set that comes with a switch that has a limiter built in, but there is not modification required for installation as long as the weld stops match up.
