Question:

I have two 36 inch wide kayaks that I want to mount in tandem using two Hullavators What is the minimum width for the cross bar needed for this kind of a setup?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Your crossbars will need to be at least 60 inches in length in order to carry a pair of the Hullavators, which are the following part number:

- Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs # TH898

I also highly recommend adding locks to the Hullavator to help protect your investment, and for two Hullavators you will need four lock cores, which you can get keyed alike with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4 # TH450400.

I have added a link below to a video review of the Hullavator for you to check out as well if you'd like to take a look.
