Will the Swagman 2 Bike Rack Fit the Toyota Rav 4 and is Hitch Installation Hard

Question:

To use this bike rack for 2 bikes mountain bikes do I need a trailer hitch. I have a Toyota RAV 4 with a spare tire on the outside back of the car. Will this bike rack work with this? If I need to get a trailer hitch is it better to go to the dealer Toyota to have it installed so I am certain to purchase the right one and have installed correctly?

Yes, this bike rack, Swagman Titan 2 Bike Hitch Mounted, part # S63400, requires a hitch to mount it. It does not mount on a spare tire. But you have options. Adding a hitch to your vehicle will give you the option of adding other accessories like cargo carriers, ball mounts for towing a trailer, and bike racks that could carry up to 5 bikes.

Installation of our hitches is very easy, and usually does not even require drilling, so the installation is done by our customers usually but any qualified mechanic should be able to install the hitch with no trouble at all, if you do not have the tools.
