On your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body Style there will be four wires underneath the dash that the controller will get connected to, as that year truck did not include a factory trailer brake controller port.
The four wires will be red, dark blue, light blue or orange, and white and will get connected to the trailer brake controller wiring harness as follows:
Red factory wire will get connected to black wire of trailer brake controller harness
Dark blue factory wire will get connected to the blue wire of the trailer brake controller harness
Light blue wire will get connected to the red wire of the trailer brake controller harness
White factory wire will get connected to the white wire of the trailer brake controller harness.
If you do not already have a trailer brak controller I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is an extremely reliable controller with great features like an easy to read LCD screen, and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
If you would rather do zero wiring, then an option like the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 would be the option for you. This controller plugs directly into the 7-way connector on your truck, and does not require any other wiring.
With either option there is not wiring under the hood.
I included a video of the similar Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 being installed on a 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body Style for you to take a look at.
