Which Blue Ox Weight Distribution for Tongue Weight Between 400-800 lb
Question:
If I have a tongue Waits between 5 and 800 lb and I purchase the bxw 1500 would that be a problem how do I determine how much weight is being distributed and how does that affect sway

The Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution system part # BXW1500 that you referenced would be rated way too high for a trailer with a tongue weight range between 500 and 800 lbs. You'd have a very harsh ride quality as the spring bars wouldn't flex at all over bumps.
A better option would be the part # BXW0750 which has a tongue weight range of 550-750 lbs or even better than that the Strait Line # RP66083 which has a range of 400-800 lbs.
Determining how much tongue weight gets distributed is somewhat challenging and not a step that is required but if you really wanted to do it you'd need to find a weigh station near you and put just the front axle of your tow vehicle on it and then get the weight with the spring bars connected and disconnected and compare the two figures.
Weight distribution will help with sway but the best way to fight sway is with proper trailer loading by having at least 10-15 percent of the total trailer weight so moving the weight in the trailer forward will help.
