Recommended Bike Rack For Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Y08107
Question:
Hello, Does the Yakima Y02103 fit this trailer better than the Thule Model TH598004 - Thule ProRide? The bars on the trailer are round so many of the newer racks require an adapter to attach to the rails. We plan to carry two kayaks and two bikes on a 78 inch trailer with a carrying capacity of 350 pounds. If we do need adapters, what should we purchase? Thanks!

The Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier - Roof Mount # Y02103 you mentioned will fit the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 78" # Y08107 you have perfectly, and will give you a load rating of 40lbs as long as you set the crossbar spread at 18" or more.
With that said the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack - Frame Mount - Clamp On or Channel Mount - Aluminum # TH598004 would work fine too, and would not require any adapters.
I recommend going with the # Y02103 as we have found it to be a bit higher quality of a bike rack.
Now the # Y08107 you were looking at only has a 250lb weight capacity that gets upgraded to 350lbs when using the Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - Qty 2 # Y08110 so you will need to make sure you have these installed as well.
If you do not already have kayak carriers I recommend adding two of the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier - Folding - Universal Mount # e98878 which will fit the crossbars of the trailer perfectly, and has a 150lb capacity which will be plenty for your trailer.
I included a video of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
