The difference between an 18:1 and 55:1 ratio is going to be the amount of times the smaller gear has to rotate to turn the larger gear one time. So for example your current 28:1 has to rotate 28 times to turn the larger gear one time. You will notice the difference in the motors speed. The 18:1 is going to be quicker than the 55:1. To ensure you order the correct motor for your slide-out, you will need to check the specifications on your existing motor label.

We only have one 28:1 ratio motor available and it is the Lippert 28:1 Venture Actuator Slide-Out Motor # LC136373. This is for a through frame slide out.

If you want to provide me with your current motor's information (model #, serial #, style such as in wall or through frame) I would be happy to help you find the correct replacement.
