Will Larger Trailer Tires Provide Smoother Ride Quality than Smaller Ones

Question:

Hi. I have a small popup that has stock 5.3x12. 1400# wet. Id like to put 185/80r13 tires/rims on for looks and stability and am wondering about how the ride will be affected? There is no suspension, so axel directly transfers road conditions and Im trying to minimize road shock. Good idea or not??

The larger the tire diameter the smoother the ride quality will be so if you can fit the larger tire size like with the # AM3S334 which is an ST185/80D13 mounted on a 5 lug wheel you'd have a smoother ride quality. It's hard to explain but basically the smaller the tire the "bigger" the bumps will feel since larger diameter tires are flatter and roll easier over bumps.
