Brake Controller Installation on 2015 Ram 1500
Question:
I have a 2015 ram 1500 i was told that I just need a part to hook up under my dash for the trailer brakes to work that I dont need a full control is this the case?

I'm not certain what you mean by 'part under the dash', but your 2015 Ram 1500 IS prewired from the factory for a brake controller. All you'd need is the brake controller itself and the vehicle-specific brake controller wiring harness.
The Tekonsha P3 you'd looked at, part # 90195 is a great choice because of how easy it is to use and because the controls and display are very user friendly, allowing you to see what's going on with your trailer braking system at a glance without needing to memorize which error codes indicate what.
You'll also need the Tekonsha # 3024-P brake controller wiring harness, that would plug into the tow package port under the dash, located under the dash to the right of the steering column as shown in the linked video.
