I spoke with the manufacturer and they stated they use boric acid to make the flame-retardant CertiPUR polyurethane foam material "Whisper Shield" to meet DOT flammability regulations on their mattresses like the etrailer eDream RV Bunk Bed Mattress - 73" Long x 28" Wide - Foam Item # e69FR.
