Recommended Tire To Replace ST155/80D13 Tires That Is The Same Size Or Slightly Smaller

Question:

I HAVE A ST155/80D13 TIRE/RIM ON MY BOAT TRAILER AND DONT HAVE ROOM TO GO ANY BIGGER. I CANT FIND THIS TIRE SIZE ANYWHERE. I SEE YOU OFFER A ST145/R12 RADIAL TIRE AND AM WONDERING IF THAT IS CLOSE TO THE TIRE SIZE I STATED ABOVE THAT IS CURRENTLY ON MY BOAT TRAILER. IREALIZE THE RIM IS SMALLER BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TIRE. I JUST SENT BACK THE 2 @ 175/13 TIRES TO YOU BECAUSE THEY WERE TO BIG. I THOUGHT THEY WOULD FIT BUT THEY DIDNT. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

You are correct, the closest tire size to the 155/80D13 tires on your boat trailer is going to be the ST145/R12 which will be about 1-1/2" shorter and 1/2" narrower overall.

Since this tire uses a different size wheel you will need to order new wheels as well. To make sure you order the correct wheels you will need to measure the bolt pattern of your current wheels following the included help article.

If you find you have the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern then I recommend the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12" Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range E # AM31215 which includes an aluminum wheel perfect for a boat trailer with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, and has a load rating of 1520lbs at 80 PSI which will be plenty to support your boat trailer.

If you have the 4 on 4" bolt pattern instead then I recommend the Kenda KR25 ST145R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM31208 which has an aluminum wheel with the 4 on 4" bolt pattern, but has a slightly lower load rating at 1220lbs at 65 PSI.

I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
