Can Anything Be Done About Noise from Curt C17501 TruTrack Weight Distribution System
Question:
Should the bars and friction points be greased or not to stop the groaning when turning? I get various answers. I am pulling a travel trailer with a 1500 Ram truck.

The weight distribution head of the Curt # C17501 system is the only portion that should be lubricated, as shown in the provided diagram. The sway control feature of the hitch depends on the metal-on-metal friction of the spring bars against the brackets that attach the spring bars to the trailer frame. Lubricating that contact point will defeat the sway control provided by that friction.
The noise generated by that friction is the nature of the beast for this type of system, and nothing short of greasing that friction point thus eliminating the sway control component would eliminate the noise you describe.
