Expert Reply:
The Pollack Replacement OEM 7-Pole Trailer Connector, # PK11893, was designed to be an OEM replacement socket for Ford, Chevy, GMC and Nissan vehicles. This socket was designed to work with the OEM wiring harnesses.
If you want to use this socket on your vehicle and you do not have an OEM trailer socket connector, then I recommend using the 4 ft Pigtail Wiring Harness, # PK11998. This wiring harness will plug into the rear of the Pollack 7-way socket and it provides 7 wires that you can splice to your vehicles trailer wiring using the included butt connectors.
The wire functions on the Pollack Pigtail Wiring Harness are as follows -
Red - Left Turn and Stop
White - Ground
Blue - Electric Brakes
Green - Right Turn and Stop
Black - 12 Volt Power
Brown - Running Lights
Yellow - Reverse Lights
Be sure to connect the wires based on function, not solely on color. Vehicle manufacturers have been known to change their wire colors and functions from time to time.
