Replacement Axle For Dexter # 9 Torsion Axle With Higher Load Rating
Question:
I would like to replace this axle with one that has a larger capacity. The most I can carry on the trailer now is 1600 lbs, would like carry 2000 lbs or more.

I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Hubs # A35RS545 to replace your torsion axle. This set will already include the 5 on 4-1/2" idler hubs that match the bolt pattern on your current axle. This system is rated for 3,500lbs and will have 1-3/4" deflection in the progressive springs.
You will want to consult the trailer manufacturer to determine if any other modifications to your frame will be required to support the additional weight that you are wanting to carry.
