Will B&W Companion BWRVK3050 For Flatbeds Fir 2016 Ram 2500 W/ CM Truck Body?
Question:
I have a 2016 RAM 2500 towing Forest River Cherokee 255RR toy hauler which is 1/2 ton rated. Using a Curt fifth wheel hitch set at 16inch above the bed I am carrying the RV about 10inch above level. I am looking at installing a CM steel truck body with recessed goose neck hitch and installing the BWRVK3050 hitch. My two questions. First the 3050 hitch is listed as 10 1/2inch high. Is this from the bottom of the hitch rail to the top of the hitch pad. If yes I assume when installed in the CM body recess of 4inch the height to the top of the pad would then be approximately 6 1/2. This would be perfect for me, please confirm. Second question since the CM truck body comes with the complete goose neck hitch I do not see the need for the recommended part BWRVK1500. Do I need this part or will the 3050 hitch simply in the receiver in the truck bed and lock down?

The B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3050 you were looking at does indeed measure 10-1/2" from the bottom of the rails that sit on the flat-bed to the top of the head assembly.
This will fit your CM Truck Body you are installing on your 2016 Ram 2500 as long as the recessed section is at least 18" x 18" and is not deeper than 4".
The # BWRVK3050 will only fit B&W gooseneck hitches with a square ball hole, so if the gooseneck hitch included with your CM truck body does not have a square hole you will need to replace it with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1500.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
