How far down does the Yakima OnRamp # Y36FR Tilt Down?
Question:
We bought my dad a Cannondale Tesoro Neo X3 54.5 lbs. and he drives a 2016 Lexus GX 460 which has a side hinge rear door. How far down does the Yakima OnRamp tilt? He definently needs to ramp for his eBike and Im not sure we will find one that will allow him to open his rear door but wanted to ask. He doesnt care about opening the door with the bike on the rack. Thanks

I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, I called my contact at Yakima, and he said that he does not have the spec for the angle of maximum tilt or the length of tilt for the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # Y36FR. However, I did include a picture of the 1-1/4 Inch version of the rack # Y96FR tilted to provide some perspective.
With that being said, another potentially better option would be the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202. The Easy Fold also comes with an integrated ramp and will be able to hold your dad's 54.5-pound electric bike. The angle of the Thule EasyFold XT is a bit steeper than the OnRamp. I went ahead and attached a picture of the tilt of the EasyFold for you to compare with the OnRamp.
