Where To Install Transmission Cooler In 2005 Jeep Liberty

Question:

I have Jeep Liberty Cherokee 2005, 3.7L V6 gasoline. Where this trans cooler could be placed? It doesn’t seem that there are enough space for it behind the grill. Can you send me a picture where it should be placed? Thank you.

Since the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and Hose Barb Inlets - Class III # D12742 you were looking at for your 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 has a fan to make sure it always get enough air flow over the fins to dissipate heat there is not a specific location that it needs to mounted, and can be mounted anywhere you have room.

This setup measures 12-3/4" wide x 10-1/4" tall x 3-5/8" thick as shown in the included diagram, so I recommend measuring how much space you have to work with to confirm you won't run into any fitment issues.

If you find it is a bit to big for where you want to mount it then I recommend going with a smaller cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13502 which we have had a chance to install on a 2005 Jeep Liberty as you can see in the included video.

When we did this install we used universal mount # D13002 and fitting # D13035.
