will it fit a 2002 Dodge 2500. Are they strong enough to protect truck from large deer? Can winch be mounted with it?

I do have a solution for your 2002 Dodge Ram 2500, but let me answer your first question. The Westin Sportsman Grille Guard - 1 Piece - Polished Stainless Steel, part # 45-1200, will not fit your 2002 dodge 2500, it is only compatible with the 1500 model. However, the Aries Grille Guard - 1 Piece - Semi-Gloss Black Powder Coated Steel, part # AA5042, does fit your 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. This grill guard does not have a winch mounting plate. I do not know if it is strong enough to protect your truck from a large dear, but it does offer significant protection from front impacts.

There is a solution if you want to mount a hitch. You can install the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2", part # 31604. This front hitch receiver has a winch mounting point.
