Troubleshooting Both Turn Signals Running At The Same Time
Question:
I installed the HM 56200 on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. When I connect my motorhome and activate either turn signal both turn signal lights flash on both the motorhome and the jeep. I checked the continuity between the ground side of the harness and the battery and it seemed good. Any ideas on what I should check.

The first thing to check is the connection pins on your wiring harness. Make sure there isn't any loose or bent pins or any debris. You can use some Dielectric Grease # 11755 to ensure a clean and proper connection.
The second thing to check is your ground. Make sure the main trailer connector ground and the grounds for each of the lights are all connected to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
The third thing to check is if you have any shorts in the wiring on both the motorhome and towed vehicle.
The converter box on the Hopkins Custom Taillight Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Item # HM56200 could be malfunctioning and causing the signals to cross. You can test it by using a Circuit Tester Kit Item # PTW2993 and check if the signal on each wire going into the converter box are actually reaching the box. If the signals are going into the box correctly, but not coming out correctly, then there is something wrong with the converter and the wiring harness will need to be replaced.
