Installing Firestone Ride-Rite F2613 On 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 W/ Brake Line In The Way

Question:

I just purchased the Firestone Ride Rite 2613 air bags and my 2011 Chevy 2500 duramax short bed 4x4 has a brake line in the way of the air bag on the drivers side. Has this been an issue with other similar Chevys ? Do you have a solution ? Thanks

Expert Reply:

It is not unheard of for a brake line to be in the way of air helper springs like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2613 you are installing on your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Short bed 4WD.

What you will need to do is either unbolt the brake line from the rear end housing so you can move it slightly, or you will need to carefully bend the brake line so you can get the hook spring in behind it as shown in the included diagram.

I included a video of the # F2613 being installed for you to take a look at.
