Does Malone Hitch Extender MPG544 Need Hitch Extender if Used with Tow Bar
Question:
I have a Winnebago Journey diesel pusher and I tow a Mini Cooper. I want to add my Thule bike carrier to this setup. I am looking at the Malone dual purpose hitch receiver to put the Thule on top and tow bar on the bottom. My concern is about clearance when turning corners. Should I add another extender between the dual receiver and tow bar? How long? Id like to avoid trial and error to eliminate returns and re-orders. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Since tow bar setups are pretty low and flat without a lot of vertical movement you wouldn't need a hitch extender to use the Malone # MPG544 with your flat towing setup. And actually we can't recommend using an additional extender with this in genera.
