Gooseneck Ball Height Restrictions For Demco Recon Recessed Ball Hitch Adapter
Question:
What if my gooseneck ball is recessed, but the top of the ball is about 1/2inch higher than the deck of the bed? Will your adapter still work?

The Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter for Recessed Ball # DM8550046 requires the top of the gooseneck ball to be less than 3/8" higher than the top of the flatbed. It also must be no lower than 13/16" to the top of the ball when it sits below the bed.
If you are at 1/2" above the bed then the adapter will not work on your bed, but this isn't to say that you can't add some steel structure to reduce the difference to the 3/8" you need.
