Question:
If the cross rack capacity is 500 lbs why is it only able to carry two 90 lb boats?

Expert Reply:
The Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer with Saddle Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks, # MAL32FR, per vendor, can hold a max boat weight capacity of 90 lbs. per boat. This is the rating of the saddle-style carriers mounted to hold the boats. Additional items, up to the max weight of 500 lbs. may be attached to the crossbars, but not in the boats due to the rating of the saddle carriers. If you remove the kayak carriers for purpose of using the trailer carry a different item, that rating can go up to but not exceed 500 lbs.
