Furrion Chill is Short Cycling

Question:

I installed this A/C in my 1986 airstream and it worked awesome until the last couple of days. It seems the unit is short cycling and not allowing the unit to cool the trailer. Could this be an issue with the thermostat? Or is it the unit itself?

There are a couple of reasons why theFurrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - Black # FR23PV may be short cycling. While it could be a faulty unit or thermostat, often times the issue can be air blowing at the thermostat; when the thermostat senses cold air, it will turn on and off quickly - short cycling. If you can re-direct the air to not blow right on or near the thermostat that may resolve the issue.

Also try running just the fan as this can also resolve the issue. Another problem could be a frozen coil, which often occurs when it is particularly humid, and combined with the cold it causes freezing; this can also often be resolved by running just the fan.

Apart from these things, it could be a faulty unit or thermostat, though to verify this you would need a certified technician to come and look at the unit.
