Are 4 Bolt and 5 Bolt Trailer Brake Flanges Cross-Compatible for Disc Brakes

Question:

My current axles have the 5 hole mounting flange, but I am looking to replace them with the 4 bolt mounting flange as this seems to be more commonly used. Im looking to purchase the Kodiak SS brake kits you offer an they mentioned they are for the 5 hole mountings system. Will they fit both the 4 hole and 5 hole mounting system?

The 4 bolt brake mounting flanges are used on axles up to 3,500 lbs. If the axle is any larger then it will likely use a 5 bolt flange. There is one exception to this which is select 4,400 lb axles. That said, you cannot use 4 bolt brakes with 5 bolt flanges or vice versa.

In order to choose the correct disc brake kit you'll need to know the axle capacity. The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit part # K2R526D for example is for 5,200 lb axles. I have attached a full list of options below.
