Best Way To Haul A Kayak On The Camper Shell On My 2019 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I am having a problem. I have a leer camper shell with thule crossbars. My 164inch canoe when placed on the crossbars is laying on cab of toyota Tundra double cab. I have heard you are not supposed to strap the canoe to the shell and the cab but I do not know anything else. I have seen many pics of 100s of people doing this with and additional bar or rack. When I saw the rhino rack pioneer platform I thought this might be a way or is the the same. any suggestions?

I have a more cost effective option for you that will also make it much faster and easier to get your kayak secured down. It is much better than getting a whole pioneer platform so you won't have to replace the rack you already have on your roof.

I love the Lockrack # LR54FR. You don't need any straps when using it!! That's why I love it so much. Straps are just a pain to store and takes a little to long for my liking. With the lock rack it's SUPER simple to get it locked into place. When you're not using it you can put the side clamps in rotated 45 degrees so it'll only add a couple inches to your roof for optimal clearance.

I HIGHLY recommend going this route. The lockrack will just clamp around your Thule bars so you don't need anything else.
