Can I Add Spring Seats To a Different Mounting Location On My Dexter 3,500LB Axle?
Question:
I just purchased 3500 LB 95inch Dexter axles and I have a trailer with a frame that is 64inch on center. Can I mount my spring perches on the axle at 64inch on center instead of 80? That would give me 15.5inch of overhang on each side. Seems reasonable to me but want to be safe.

Yes, you can weld on new Spring Seats # TRSS238 to your Dexter axle. It is important to ensure that the springs seats are welded onto the axle with the correct axle orientation. The axle does have a top and bottom as well as a front and a rear.
It is a good idea to place the axle where you are going to need it and ensure that it is centered and square on the trailer before fully welding on the new seats.
