Finding Stoplight Circuit for Chrysler Pacifica to Install Brake Controller  

Question:

Brake controller for Chrysler Pacifica Voyager with no connector under the dash, only one wire hanging that is going to 7-way on the back for trailer brakes. Car had no factory tow package, but the 4/7-way wiring Trailer Tow Wiring Harness - Mopar 82214522AC were installed on a dealership. Where to get stop light signal, cold side, voltage only when brake pedal is pushed?? Is Cold side 12V in 2020 pacifica?? Can I just cut that wire to get signal?? Found none mechanic who can do it for me, they do not want deal with the newer cars.

You'd need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to probe the wires that run to the stoplight switch of your vehicle till you find one that has full 12 volts when the brakes are applied and none when they are released. That would be the circuit you'd need to use when installing a brake controller like the # TK63VR for the red wire.

The white wire gets grounded, the black wire runs up to the positive post of the vehicle battery, and the blue wire runs to the wire that runs to your 7-way and you'd be set.
